AUGUST 2022 This may be my first studio email in awhile and I'm excited to share it from (look how happy this makes me) my own studio! The studio space came along with a one year artist residency, a surprise waiting for me after I made the move to Virginia. It has been such a blessing—one reason I'm calling the collection I've created "Blue Ridge Blessings" (show dates below).

​We've all been navigating times of great change, haven't we?

I don't know about you, but for me a choice to embrace soul-inspired living every day is what makes me stronger, more authentic and free. Without it and the beauty, wonder and mystery of nature's healing gifts, I'm not sure I would have been able to navigate the individual and collective challenges of the last several years and stay connected to what matters most.

That's really what my "Second Sunday in the Studio" letters are all about. Sure, I'll tell you a little more about what's happening in the studio and share upcoming art events. But really it is an opportunity for us to gather around this shared commitment to living and creating from the soul for the soul. At its heart, my work is about connection and reconnection, and that's my intention for this letter to you from the studio.

🧡 In the Studio: What I'm Exploring

I gave myself the first six months of my year-long artist residency to just explore. I've also managed to create paintings for the two upcoming shows — save the dates from bottom of this email.

It's been really fun to play with more abstract expressions and my Dia Gram drawings series. I'm even making friends with my arch-nemesis watercolor and even mixing it up with mixed media.

🧡Art & Soul Life: Don't Miss This!

The pandemic and family situations led to a few shifts in plans but my continued reclamation of an art & soul life has only accelerated. I feel like I've hit my stride with a balance of creative rejuvenation in the studio and sharing what I create, showing my original work 😉 and creating affordable products that inspire.

How did I learn to take my art and share it in unique ways?

A mid-pandemic decision to learn from the high-energy, inspiring Stacie Bloomfield taught me about licensing, wholesale and both the creative and the business sides of art.

This week Stacie's doing a free course and giving away some of her best tips in an amazing free week-long mini-course, The Artist's Side Hustle, a precursor to her Leverage Your Art course. She's even doing a live portfolio review as part of the free course! I'll be there to keep learning from her and wanted to share this with you.

New Shows: Save the Dates!

The dates are set for two solo shows. Both will showcase Soul of Place paintings. The first includes a series of paintings inspired by scenes along the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. It opens November 22 and runs through the end of January. These paintings were created as a part of my one-year residency as the emerging artist at the Bower Center in Bedford, Virginia.

The second show will be the first time I've showed my Soul of Ireland paintings publicly and will open February and run through April of 2023. I can't wait to share thew new paintings for this collection with you! I'll do an online debut for each collection.
